Italian Week update letter 4th March 2010

 

 

Hello friends of Italian Week!


We are well into planning and organizing the 4th edition of Italian Week and 2010 will hold a few surprises …


As the program is still under the final stages of development, we can’t reveal too much right now… One thing we can tell you is It’s ……….

 

VERY EXCITING

 

 

In the interim, we thought we would update you on progress…

 

This year’s program is rich with high level cultural events covering Italian cinema, 16th Century Italian Commedia, Motor Vehicles, fantastic food events and so much more..  

 

We have some GREAT NEWS regarding Italian Fashion Week which we will reveal in due course  … so stay tuned.

 

Over the past 6 months, we have had the good fortune to have Sir Llew Edwards http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Llewellyn_Edwards   mentoring and assisting with strategic planning and development and we are grateful to this fine gentleman for his support and wisdom.

 

We are pleased to confirm that the Lord Mayor, Campbell Newman will be opening Italian Week this year.

 

Please put Italian Week (26th of May to 2nd of June) into your diary’s – it will be a weeklong adventure highlighting captivating Italy and her delightful culture. Be sure to leave the week free.

 

Cultural Program  

The Italian Week program is closing on the 15th March so if you are interested in hosting a cultural event during Italian Week, please get in touch as soon as possible to avoid missing out. 2010 see’s collaborations with the leading Cultural Institutions in Queensland and several national and international premiers.

 

Sponsorship opportunities
We already have many of our past sponsors on board again this year and the sponsorship program will close on the 25th of March. This year we are printing 100,000 copies of program and will have them onto the marketplace around town starting from the 1st week in April. We are keen to ensure the maximum exposure and visibility this year, hence the March deadlines.

 

If you have not already done so, please contact me to discuss how you can support Italian Week and enjoy the visibility that it receives. Last year we reached an audience of 6.9 million people – (source Sequel Communications) EXCLUDING the international audience via the feature on RAI International.

 

Pellegrino Scholarship

Cav. Stephen J. Pellegrino (SP) is offering one scholarship for 2010 to Australian citizens and Italian citizens permanently residing in Queensland. The scholarship is organised in conjunction with the Consulate of Italy in Brisbane. The scholarship is allocated for the duration of approximately one month. The scholarship can be used to attend the following institution: Centro Europeo di Toscolano (CET), localita’ Toscolano, 305020, Avigliano Umbro (TR)  www.cetmusic.it

Italian Week Charity organization

We are proud to support the ‘Hear and Say Centre’ www.hearandsaycentre.com.au The Hear and Say Centre is one of the leading Paediatric Auditory-Verbal and cochlear implant centers in the world, teaching children who are deaf or hearing impaired to listen and speak since 1992.
